Ignoring fashion and braving the scorn of “wine thought police”, Elephant in the Room was created to give consumers exactly what they want – full bodied and mouth-filling wines that deliver maximum pleasure.
This new 2024 vintage release 'Buttery Chardonnay' is a creamy delight. Sourced from established vineyards from the Limestone Coast in South Australia, the vines are mostly dry-grown and utilize expert canopy management to help to control ripening and vigour.
Many Australians & Kiwis still greatly enjoy the rich, buttery and oaky wine style of the 1990’s. This style was taken away in the main by winemakers based on their own taste, not what a large number of consumers were still asking for.
Elephant in the Room aims to deliver this rich buttery style with clear oak influence from a combination of barrel fermentation & aging, and/or oak stave & chips integration.
The 'buttery' style is soft, creamy, toasty and delicious. With a combination of melon and citrus fruit flavours on the palate, the wine has a long vanilla, spice and layered buttery finish. Excellent with a creamy pasta, soft cheeses and great company. 13% ABV. Get in!
